Malaysian Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail discussed the prisoner exchange with Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections, Yusril Ihza Mahendra. Saifuddin revealed that 70 Indonesian citizens were sentenced to death by the Malaysian Court. Following appeals filed by the 70 Indonesian citizens, the Malaysian Federal Court commuted the death sentences to life imprisonment for 68 Indonesian citizens.[1]
