United States (US) President Donald Trump recently warned foreign companies to comply with US laws. This came after immigration officials arrested approximately 475 people, including South Korean workers, at a Hyundai-LG battery plant under construction in the state of Georgia. The arrests were made in an operation by US authorities, intended to be implemented in Trump's national anti-immigration campaign. "Please respect our Country's Immigration Laws," Trump wrote on social media.[1]

LG Energy Solution said 47 of its employees were arrested, 46 South Koreans and one Indonesian. The company also said about 250 of those arrested were believed to be employed by its contractors, and most of them were South Koreans. Domestically, Trump has pledged to revive the US manufacturing sector while also vowing to deport millions of undocumented migrants. Despite warning investors to obey the law, Trump appeared to acknowledge a skills shortage in the domestic workforce.[2] And if you have any legal issue in Indonesia territory, contact us for business inquiry, feel free in 24 hour, we will be glad to assist you.

A female employee has been fired from Australia's largest bank after 25 years of service. Ironically, she was replaced by the artificial intelligence (AI) system she had trained. Kathryn Sullivan (63) was dismissed from the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) in July, along with 44 other employees. This marked the first time that a layoff was directly linked to the bank's use of AI technology.[1]

Sullivan said he didn't realize his role in scripting and testing responses for the bank's AI chatbot, called 'Bumblebee', would cost him his job. AI's growing impact on traditional jobs has raised concerns about how technology is changing the workplace.[2] And if you have any legal issue in Indonesia territory, contact us for business inquiry, feel free in 24 hour, we will be glad to assist you.

Patsy Widakuswara, lead plaintiff in lawsuit fighting order to dismantle Voice of America, says US government is becoming more aggressive. The lead plaintiff in a lawsuit fighting Donald Trump’s order to dismantle Voice of America has said the media has to resist as the administration becomes increasingly aggressive against the press. “I never in a million years thought I would have to fight for freedom of the press in the United States of America. And yet here we are,” says Patsy Widakuswara, the White House bureau chief for the broadcasting network. “As journalism is under attack, it feels empowering to fight back. We need more people to resist and fight back.”[1]

The White House reporter is now leading the charge to save VOA, which the US president has described as “anti-Trump” and “radical”. In March, Trump signed an executive order that effectively cut off its funding via its parent company, the US Agency for Global Media (USAGM). Launched in 1942, initially to counter Nazi propaganda, VOA is a federally funded international broadcasting network, produced in dozens of languages that reach about 350 million people around the globe.[2] And if you have any legal issue in Indonesia territory, contact us for business inquiry, feel free in 24 hour, we will be glad to assist you.

Trump's Global Trade Tariffs Declared Illegal by US Appeals Court

A United States Court of Appeals has declared most of President Donald Trump's global trade tariffs invalid. However, the tariffs remain in effect temporarily, giving Trump the opportunity to pursue a lawsuit all the way to the Supreme Court. The Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit ruled that Trump had exceeded the authority of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). The court noted that the statute grants the president broad powers in the event of a national emergency, but does not include the right to impose tariffs or similar levies.[1]

This ruling upholds a lower court's earlier ruling that declared Trump's tariff policy unlawful. If the Supreme Court rejects Trump's appeal, companies are expected to sue for damages resulting from the tariffs.[2] And if you have any legal issue in Indonesia territory, contact us for business inquiry, feel free in 24 hour, we will be glad to assist you.

A Thai woman has been jailed for 43 years for criticizing the royal family, the country's harshest sentence for insulting the monarchy. The former civil servant, known only as Anchan, posted an audio clip from a podcast on social media. The 63-year-old said she only shared the audio file and did not comment on its content. Thailand's lèse-majesté law, which prohibits any insult to the monarchy, is among the strictest in the world.[1]

He was initially sentenced to 87 years, but the sentence was halved after he pleaded guilty. Anchan pleaded guilty to 29 separate offenses related to sharing and uploading clips on YouTube and Facebook between 2014 and 2015, his lawyer said. Anchan was among 14 people charged with lèse-majesté shortly after the military junta seized power in 2014 and vowed to stamp out criticism of the monarchy. The group was accused of posting podcasts, popular among dissidents, that questioned the monarchy.[2] The 69-year-old woman was released from prison on Wednesday (August 27, 2025) local time. She received a mass pardon granted to commemorate King Maha Vajiralongkorn's birthday.[3] And if you have any legal issue in Indonesia territory, contact us for business inquiry, feel free in 24 hour, we will be glad to assist you.

For nearly two years, between April 2018 and February 2020, Erlinda performed domestic work at Soh's home, including sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning fans, and ironing clothes. Each session lasted three to four hours and took place two to three times a month. She was paid approximately S$375 (approximately IDR 4.7 million) in cash each month. Erlinda temporarily stopped working for Soh in February 2020 due to Covid-19 restrictions on the number of household visitors. She resumed working for Soh from March 2022 to September 2024 after Covid-19 had subsided. Erlinda did not have a valid work permit to work part-time for Soh. Although Soh knew Erlinda was employed by someone else as a foreign domestic worker, he hired her out of necessity.[1]

Regulations for migrant domestic workers (ART) in Singapore are very strict. Those who work part-time outside their official employer will be subject to fines of up to hundreds of millions of rupiah. The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) began an investigation into this case in December 2024 after receiving information about a possible violation of the Foreign Employment Act. After being tried in court, Soh, a Singaporean citizen, was fined S$7,000 (approximately IDR 88 million) by the court. Meanwhile, his migrant worker, Erlinda, was fined S$13,000 (approximately IDR 165 million). Both women have paid the fines in full.[2] And if you have any legal issue in Indonesia territory, contact us for business inquiry, feel free in 24 hour, we will be glad to assist you.

The Disappearance of Three Civil Rights Activists Inspired the Mississippi Burning Movie

In 1961, although approximately 45% of Mississippi's population was Black, less than 7% were registered to vote. This low number was due to scare tactics and laws used to disenfranchise Black citizens there. Freedom Summer's goal was to counter this. Freedom Summer was a movement to encourage as many Black people as possible in Mississippi to register to vote.[1]

Hundreds of volunteers, many of them students from northern states, traveled to the South to help establish Freedom Schools. Freedom Schools taught Black history and civil rights, helped prospective voters pass literacy tests, and completed state-required ballot forms. However, the Freedom Summer initiative sparked intense and often violent resistance from white supremacists and local authorities in Mississippi. Black campaigners and voters attending the classes faced persistent intimidation and violence. Black churches were routinely burned, and activists were threatened and attacked.[2]

On June 21, 1964, three young staff members traveled to investigate the arson of Mount Zion Methodist Church in Neshoba County. They were James Chaney, a 21-year-old Black man from Mississippi, and his two white colleagues, Andrew Goodman (20, a Jewish New Yorker) and Michael Schwerner (24). After examining the charred remains of the church and interviewing members of the congregation who had been brutally beaten by Ku Klux Klan members, the three men left the scene to return to their offices. However, they were never heard from again. The men's disappearance prompted a major response from the US Department of Justice.[3]

Attorney General Robert Kennedy classified the case as a kidnapping, thus falling under federal jurisdiction. He ordered approximately 150 FBI agents from the New Orleans office to search the area for them. They were assisted by troops from a nearby naval air base. On July 23, the three men's car was found burned near a swamp. However, there was still no sign of the three civil rights activists. The investigation was codenamed Miburn, short for Mississippi Burning.[4]

Throughout July, FBI agents continued to comb the Mississippi swamps for the three missing civil rights activists. Instead, they repeatedly found the bodies of other black murder victims. On August 4, after six weeks of searching, FBI investigators finally discovered the bodies of Schwerner, Chaney, and Goodman, buried in a red clay dam near Philadelphia, Mississippi.[5] And if you have any legal issue in Indonesia territory, contact us for business inquiry, feel free in 24 hour, we will be glad to assist you.

Heavier Penalties Await for Vaping-related Offences in Singapore

A State Courts judge has signaled possible sterner penalties for vape-related offences in the light of public sentiment. District Judge Wong Li Tein was on Aug 21 presiding over the case of a woman who is accused of helping another individual to purchase five vape devices through messaging platform WhatsApp. During proceedings, a Health Sciences Authority (HSA) prosecutor informed the court that the woman had been reminded twice about her court date but had become uncontactable to the investigating officers for her case.[1]

The prosecutor then called for a warrant of arrest after Nicole Lorraine Rodrigues, 32, failed to turn up in court. In a subsequent exchange in court, the judge said she would have adjourned the case even if the accused had turned up. This was to allow the HSA prosecutor to relook the submissions for sentencing. “Cases involving vaping have caught a lot of public attention, and it is no longer feasible to rely on dated precedence,” said the judge. She noted that even cases that were prosecuted as recently as 2024 are “no longer going to be the same” as the cases that are being tried in court now, due to growing public attention.[2] And if you have any legal issue in Indonesia territory, contact us for business inquiry, feel free in 24 hour, we will be glad to assist you.
