The daylight robbery at the Louvre Museum in Paris last month, which left 88 million euros (approximately IDR 1.7 trillion) worth of historic jewelry missing, was apparently carried out by petty criminals. On Sunday (October 19, 2025), two weeks ago, two men parked a lift outside the Louvre, climbed to the second floor, smashed a window, hacked into a showcase with an angle grinder, and then fled on a motorcycle driven by two accomplices in an operation that lasted less than seven minutes.
