Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono reiterated Indonesia's intention to facilitate de-escalation efforts and peaceful dialogue regarding the conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel in his conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. In a statement on the X platform, Sugiono said he had communicated by phone with Araghchi to discuss the escalating situation in the Middle East. "Indonesia is always ready to play a constructive role in promoting peace, including expressing our desire to facilitate dialogue and mediation," said the Indonesian Foreign Minister regarding his conversation with the Iranian Foreign Minister.[1]

Sugiono stated that this constructive role was based on a shared desire to prevent further escalation and prevent the loss of innocent lives. He conveyed Indonesia's call for all parties to exercise restraint and take immediate steps to de-escalate the conflict. He also emphasized that international law and the United Nations Charter must always be adhered to by all parties.
