Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas stated that Indonesia is strengthening Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA) cooperation with Russia. Additionally, he noted that President Prabowo Subianto has approved Russia's request for the extradition of a Russian national currently in Indonesia. He mentioned that since the signing of the MLA agreement six years ago, Russia has submitted seven MLA requests to Indonesia. The breakdown is as follows: one request has been fulfilled, three are undergoing document completion in Russia, one was rejected, and two were withdrawn by the Russian government. "President Prabowo Subianto recently signed the extradition order for one Russian citizen," Supratman stated in the presence of the Russian Prosecutor General.[1]

Supratman was meeting with Russian Prosecutor General Aleksandr V. Gutsan to sign a legal cooperation agreement at the Prosecutor General's Office in St. Petersburg. This meeting was part of the Indonesian Law Minister's bilateral visit to Russia to attend the 14th St. Petersburg International Legal Forum (SPILF).
