The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has officially extradited Russian citizen Aleksandr Vladimirovich Zverev back to his home country. Zverev's handover to the Russian Federation Government came after Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto approved the extradition request. The handover took place at the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office. "President Prabowo has approved the extradition request for Aleksandr Vladimirovich Zverev. The repatriation process will be carried out in accordance with international legal procedures and cooperation between law enforcement authorities of both countries," the Head of the AGO's Legal Information Center told reporters.[1]

Zveres was reportedly arrested by the Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) on March 22, 2022, at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. The arrest was based on a red notice issued by Interpol and coordination with Russian authorities. "The crime was committed within the jurisdiction of the Russian Federation.
