Convicted killer Christa Pike is awake and alert after surviving a failed execution attempt — and now, one of her doctors has revealed what she's told them so far. An anesthesiologist advising her team, Dr. Joel Zivot, told the BBC on Tuesday, October 6, that she has been taken off a ventilator and is able to communicate in a "basic way".[1]
Her lawyers said in a separate statement to the AP that she is "conscious, speaking, and continues to receive critical medical care". Per Zivot, the 50-year-old murderer "has some memories of being in the hospital but no memory, I believe, of the execution attempt."
